Turnkey Solutions

Turnkey Solutions (concept to manufacture)

Electronic design is our original core expertise & we still do most of it in-house. However we quickly learnt that many of our clients wanted turkey solutions. We have therefore built up close relationships with a network of trusted suppliers in key areas including:

  • Rapid Prototyping
  • Injection Moulding (inc Tooling)
  • Metal Working
  • Semi-Custom Enclosures (metal & plastic)
  • Graphic Design
  • PCB Manufacture (onshore & offshore)
  • Test Houses
  • Component Assembly (onshore & offshore)
  • Packaging

Rapid prototyping…

An accurate 3-D prototype is automatically made directly from CAD software files. This is often undertaken prior to tooling for injection moulding. If multiple samples are required then castings may be made from the original prototype.

Semi-custom enclosures…

For prototype/preproduction runs, initial production or low volume products, semi-custom techniques offer a professional look, feel & finish without prohibitive tooling charges.

Graphic Design…

In today’s image conscious world look & feel are often just as important as functionality, reliability & price.

Test Houses…

We have a full spectrum of contacts for testing to European (CE) & International standards for Safety, Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC), Ingress (IP), Impact (IK), Etc.

For low volumes or products with lots of variants, local manufacture can be a still good option. Offshore manufacture is no longer quite as cheap as it once was, but for volume production it is still the most cost effective option:

  • Not only is labour cheaper but components are discounted too.
  • Also the quantities required to make it viable have fallen steadily

However there is still much truth in the old adage about there being a difference between price & cost. We have come across some offshore designs that are blatantly illegal & test houses report frequent instances where UK designed products have been rendered unsafe by poor manufacture. WareWorks has invested much time & effort in building-up manufacturing relationships, both local & offshore.

Packaging is necessary to ensure that the products arrives with the customer in the same condition it left the factory.
